Ideal Green Market Co-op is one of the several regional food co-ops joined to form a Food Co-op Coalition. The Food Co-op Coalition, in November 2016, was inspired by a common vision and mission to build and expand the local food economy in our locales. The group of food co-ops working together are able to make optimum use of collaborative resources. One of the Coalition's first projects, Why Co-ops, focused on building awareness in the community about food co-ops and the beneficial impact they have on people, farmers, growers, and local economies.
WHY FOOD CO-OPS? The overall goal of a cooperative is to create organizations that serve the needs of the people who use them. They are member-owned, member-governed businesses that operate for the benefit of their members, When you join a Co-op, you own it!
