Snowy Day Fundraiser

Dear members and friends of Ideal Green Market,
What a year it has been! Ours began with the pleasant surprise of summer level sales in March. A wonderful way to start the year.
Now at the 5 year point, we are building a successful, viable place to shop for healthy food right here in Ideal. Our momentum is strong. Here are a few fun facts:
  • We have 39 new member owners this year for a total of 359.
  • More new shoppers are in the store than ever before…and coming back for more.
  • Our sales have more than doubled over last year.
  • Vendors at our Farmer’s Market had their best year yet.
With all that good news, as you can well imagine, our biggest challenge remains getting through the winter months once the snowbirds have taken off. Our landlord already significantly reduces our rent during this quieter time of sales for the co-op. Even with that, we still need help with cash flow and operating costs to get us through to spring. During our lean months coming up, here are some ways you could help give the co-op a boost:
  1. Make a cash donation at the store, mail a check or call us to charge your donation.
  2. If you’re not already a member, consider joining. If you are a member, consider gifting someone a membership.
  3. Make life easier for yourself – stock up on some of your favorite food items and take them with you. You can order cases if you like.
  4. How about gifting others with some of our wonderful local Minnesota products?
  5. And, there are always gift cards available for gift giving…or for yourself…to use next spring.
Thank you for being an important part of our mission “To provide access to local, sustainable, healthy food and products.” As this pandemic year has emphasized, great health is an important part of living together in community. We want to be here to help support good nutrition for the long haul.
May you all enjoy a wonderful winter season. We look forward to seeing our regulars this winter and welcoming the snowbirds’ return in the spring. Thanks to all of you, 2020 was a great year. We can’t wait to see what 2021 brings!
